Five minutes away from our Jia is the Jing'an Temple. We walk past it regularly to get to our group dinners and local eateries. This past week I was fortunate to spend some time with a few of the students, which is always precious for me. Ellia and I found Subconscious Day Spa to get our nails done. It cost only $17 for a manicure! The girl spent an hour on just a regular manicure! Amazing!
Local dining includes places like:
We all participated in a Chinese cooking class where we made Dumplings, Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Stir Fried Tofu, Egg with Tomatoes, and Chinese Eggplant. Delicious!
There are a few Din Tai Fung dumpling houses in the U.S., and there is also one located within walking distance of our Jia and just below the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The restaurant is famous for their pork dumplings. On our walk there, it felt like walking down the Rodeo Drive of Shanghai. The streets were lined with shops like Gucci, Burberry, and chic boutiques.
